Climate change poses a serious threat to the planet and mankind. Finding the right balance between mitigation and adaptation may be challenging but is essential to work towards a more climate-resilient world. It requires us to find the right balance between measures that reduce greenhouse gas emissions (mitigation), and those that help societies adapt to a changing climate (adaptation). The balancing act is about dealing with those two opposing needs in a smart and sustainable way.
Just a few days after COP27, we will take a closer look at how institutions and private organizations are moving beyond words and are taking actions to accelerate the adaptation initiatives that can be implemented, and their implications.
