SCDF's Emergency Response Strategies

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) sits within the Crisis Management Group (Safety and Security) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. In the event of crisis, SCDF is ready to plan and supervise on-site tactical action and consequence management. This seminar will provide an overview of SCDF's capabilities as well as our humanitarian efforts in the United Nation, ASEAN and Asia-Pacific Region.

About Lieutenant - Colonel Lok Wee Keong

LTC Lok Wee Keong has served the SCDF for 20 years. He is currently the Commander of the elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART), leading the unit in the core function of complex urban search and rescue in both local and overseas operations. LTC Lok has also previously served as a Branch Head of the Command and Staff Training Centre in the Civil Defence Academy and the Commander of Paya Lebar Fire Station. LTC Lok is currently a member of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, International Search and Rescue Advisory Group, National Accreditation Working Group.
